It seems the music
Speaks to me softly
Through these trials,
Like a mother
Crooning to her child.

I’m simply human,
Not a superhero
Not one with great powers.
I make mistakes.
I can’t save the world,
I can barely keep my own
Life above the troubled waters.

I’m no icon.
Nothing to look up to,
And yet people around me do.
Strength is my mask,
But sometimes it crumbles.

Few have seen me broken,
But those few I know as true friends:
Innocent girl, first helper,
Boy that I would give everything to,
I thank you both,
But I’m no superhero.
